How The Trifectameter® Works
The Trifectameter® formula, where “T” is the implied probability of a team winning a championship:
Trifectameter = (T1 / 3) + (T2 / 3) + (T3 / 3)
The implied probability calculation, where “X” are the odds of a team winning a championship:
If X > 0, then:
T = 1 / (X + 1)
If X < 0, then:
T = X / (X - 1)
If a team has won a championship, then X = 0 and:
T = 1 / (X + 1)
If odds to win a championship do not exist, then T = 0
For Example:
Team 1
Odds: 7.5 to 1
T1 = 11.765%
Team 2
Odds: -1.35 to 1
T2 = 57.447%
Team 3
Odds: 45 to 1
T3 = 2.174%
